Leveraging his background in mobile phone technology, they are developing a subscription model for sustainable electric-run transportation. Better Place, with the strong vote of confidence from a chunk of venture capital cash and an impressive list of investors , is already developing oil-free transportation networks in Israel and Denmark. They are partnering with Renault-Nissan to make cars, and DONG (Danish Oil & Natural Gas) Energy company to power the electric vehicles with unstored electricity from wind turbines. It’s all existing technology, just a new way of approaching it. Like Al , Better Place believes we can be free from oil within ten years. This is as much a philosophical effort as a business endeavor. Better Place is collecting the ten word “minifestos” of other people who believe it’s time to stop relying on oil and find new, clean sources of energy. Here’s my minifesto. Want to make your own?
